Baptism declares to the world that you’ve trusted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, and that you’re making a commitment to follow Jesus for the rest of your life.

Once you have decided to follow Jesus, being baptized is your next step. Baptism has been a sacred ordinance in Christianity for over 2,000 years, and even though baptism does NOT save you, it is a command of Jesus to be obeyed by every one of His followers. When you’re baptized, you’re basically putting on a new team jersey and saying, “I belong on Team Jesus!”
